The MCCIA library is a Commercial Reference library which has been set up to cater to the information needs of the business community in and around Pune. The emphasis in the library is on dissemination as well as development of collections mainly in directories, yearbooks, statistical data, project profiles of small scale industries, Information Technology, TQM, Management. Thus the library has gradually developed into one of the major reference libraries of Pune, which is being increasingly used not only by the members of MCCIA, but also by the students and the public alike. The library at present has 5,000 books, 200 CDs, annual reports, state and central government gazettes. The library also has material on subjects like, International Trade, Finance & Banking, Five Year Plans, Budget, Agriculture, Taxation, Management etc. Nearly 270 periodicals are received either on complimentary or subscription basis. The library also receives major newspapers of India . To keep track of the developments in the economic sphere, daily newspaper clippings are maintained in subject wise files.

This section consists of trade directories from different countries and from India . There are more than 200 such directories published by different associations, Govt. agencies, institutions and private publishers. A list of directories is given in Annexure I. Continuous efforts are being made to keep these directories up-to-date and new editions are obtained as and when they are published.

The project profiles prepared by various agencies are kept in the library to help the entrepreneurs in setting up of a SSI. This section consists of fairly large collection of project profiles published by Development Commissioner - Small Scale Industries, Small Industries Development Bank of India, Japan Consulting Institute, UNIDO, Consultants and so on.

The Govt. of India announces the export-import policy Form time to time. Hence the library has kept all the policy books Form the year 1947 to date. Export section contains books on export policy, procedure, documentation foreign exchange etc. Besides this, the market survey reports published by International Trade Centre, Geneva and CBI, Netherlands are also available to the readers in the library.

The library has an exhaustive collection of reports of Government Committees and Commissions on subjects relating to trade industry such as Tariff Commissions, Taxation Enquiry Commission etc.

The library receives more than 270 journals on subjects connected with Agriculture, Food Processing Industry, Quality. Indian Economy, Taxation Banking, Finance, Foreign Trade etc. The current periodicals are kept in the library for use of readers. The back issues of some of the important journals like HBR, Fortune, RBI Bulletins are bound.

The library receives circulars and public notifications from various Govt. Departments such as Collector of Central Excise, Ministry of Finance, Company Law Board, Central Board of Direct Taxes etc. Circulars and notifications from the above authorities for the last 30 years are available. This collection is available at a very few places.

The library not only has collected information but in order that it should be useful for businessmen it renders the following services :

1. World of Business : It compiles and publishes a weekly bulletin 'World of Business'. All important Govt. Notifications released till Friday are compile, classified, published and made available to the members on Tuesday morning.

3. Telephone Enquiries : The library answers by way of telephone and email number of enquiries.

4. Electronic information Services :
CD ROM - Library has more than 150 CDs on industrial directories, statistics, country profiles,

Statistical Information- Library supplies statistical information on socio-economic statistical facts and figures. The data can be useful to institutional and corporate users, academicians, researchers and professionals in marketing, finance, socio-economic studies.

New Projects : Database on New Projects Information is available in MCCIA Library. The detailed project information contains Project Name, Company Name, Cost, Project Ownership, Industry, Implementation Stage, Project Type, Completion Date, Location, Products / Services, Project Milestones, Registered Office Address.

Automobile Industry: We provide statistical data on automobile sector like Comparative Production, Domestic Sales and Exports Data-Report-I, Flash Report(Media)-Report-II, Summary Report (Media)-Report-III, Flash Report-Report-IV, Summary Report-Report-V, Company wise Summary Report-Report-VI , Market Share Analysis - Report VII .

All the companies who are members of MCCIA can avail of the facilities of the library. For non-members the annual Membership Fee is Rs. 500/-. Casual readers may use the library resources by paying a daily admission fee of Rs. 10/- .

The Commercial Reference library is a unique attempt made by the Chamber and is very successful as can be seen by increase in number of visitors everyday. The staff of library welcomes the members of MCCIA.

Monday to Saturday 1000 to 1700 HRS. Closed on 2 nd and 4 th Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays.
