NAFARI has to be set up an international class laboratory and for providing analytical and R&D services to Food Trade and Industry, including agricultural produce for domestic and international consumption. The laboratory is located at Pune, which is the hub of agri-business, of the region has also a prominent get way for food exports. The laboratory is being professionally managed by Governing Council and Technical Advisory Committee with distinguished experts in the area of food safety and food quality control as their members.

NAFARI enjoys the recognition from Ministry of Food Processing Industries; The laboratory is striving to get accreditation Form National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Ministry of Science and Technology. Recognition of International agencies such as Food and Agricultural Organisation of United Nations (FAO) and Codex Alimentations Commission shall fetch international acceptance to the laboratory and its services.

Only those methods which have been validated by national and international agencies such as AOAC, APHA, USDA, FDA, ISO, CODEX, BIS, PFA and Agmark etc. are used. The validity and authenticity of the analytical data being transmitted to the clients is ensured by a well established internal quality control program incorporating appropriate quality checks.

NAFARI has some of the most modern and sophisticated imported instruments/equipments to cater to even the most complicated analytical requirements of its clients. Some of them are: GC HPLC, AAS, Refractometer,UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Viscometer, BOD Track, and HPTLC.

The Laboratory presently undertakes more than 100 analytical procedures.
