Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture is pleased to announce a Workshop on Conducting Export / Import Business for those who have recently started or wish to venture into exports or imports. The Workshop will cover following aspects :

Statutory requirements :

  • Obtaining IEC code from Jt.DGFT.
  • Registration with Export Promotion Council, Export Inspection Agency, Chamber of Commerce, Excise Authorities, etc.
  • Provisions and Procedures of the Foreign Trade Policy.
  • Export Incentives.
  • Running through an Import Cycle i.e. Raising RFQs, receiving offers, evaluating the offers, raising orders, making payments (Advance Payment/L.C/CAD, etc.), appointing freight forwarders, customs clearance, receiving the consignments, inwarding, raising insurance claims, taking CENVAT credit of CVD, SAD.
  • Compliance : Excise and GST/Customs/FEMA.
  • Import duty calculations.
  • Insurance formalities.
  • Related documentation.
  • Deciding the KPIs of import activities.

Export :

  • Exploring export markets
  • Deciding on the export market, target countries, initial appointment of dealers/importers, selecting the channel partners, contract, sample supplies, debugging the products, homologation, advertisement, warranty conditions and nuturing the products.
  • Export pricing.
  • Export Order execution - i.e. receiving the order, broad casting the same in the organising, raising work orders, organising packing, third party inspection, appointing freight forwarders, insurances, customs clearance, informing the buyer on shipment, negotiating the export documents, realisation of the export payment.
  • Raising and realisation of the export incentives.
