The International Business and Relations Committee (IBRC) organises events focused on promoting business and institutional links of Pune region with other countries. IBRC supports the Mission of MCCIA to promote Pune as an attractive destination for investments by making presentations to the visiting dignitaries, prospective investors and business delegates in Pune and other places in India and abroad.
The Chamber and its IBRC have sound working relationship with British Trade Office, Indo-German Chamber and Australian Trade Commission based in Pune. In addition, we work very closely with Embassies, High Commissions of other countries in New Delhi and Consulates and Diplomatic Missions in Mumbai.
MCCIA has formal MoUs with Consulate General of The Netherlands and Wallonia (Belgium) Economic Representation – Mumbai Office. Their officials visit MCCIA regularly for individual meetings with representatives of companies interested in Joint Ventures, Technical Collaborations, Investment, Incubation Imports or marketing in those countries.
IBRC regularly organizes meetings with senior officials of Foreign Diplomatic and Trade Missions in India for interactive sessions with business community from Pune. It also organizes individual meetings amongst representatives of companies /organizations from Pune and abroad.
IBRC disseminates information about events in India and abroad which are organized /supported by Diplomatic Missions / Trade Promotion Organisations. We also pass on business enquiries received from abroad. The IBR Committee also promote delegations overseas at major international exhibitions and other events.
The Chamber has been selected by UNIDO as the Business Promotion Institution for its initiatives for Micro, Small and Medium Scale companies from the Auto Components sector. As part of the initiative, MCCIA is assisting Auto component companies in Pune region in the following wasys
Pune is an established Auto Hub of Western India. On 1st July 2010, UNIDO, MCCIA and ACDRIL Pune inaugurated the “Supplier Development Program” – Initiative in Pune aimed at making first batch of 11 Companies from the Auto Components sector in the Pune Region capable of global competition and bringing up their overall quality levels to the expectations of International OEMS.
National Expert of UNIDO and representative of ACDRIL were trained by the International experts on the methodology of the program which involves essentially 8 steps :
The overall methodology is a synergy of quality requirements of major vehicle manufacturers and the mechanics and evaluation is based on VW systems. We are very close to Step 6 and are proud to say that the companies have really shown very high level of interest in Gap analysis and Eagerness to work on closing this gap. UNIDO, MCCIA (Maharatta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture) and ACDRIL (Auto Cluster Development & Research Institute Ltd.) will expand the programme and also include tier 2 and 3 suppliers in and around Pune region in the next few months.
