Pune is a major electronics centre in India with strengths in Original Equipment, Chip Designing, Embedded systems, System Integration, Electronic manufacturing services, VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) Design, etc.
The Electronics Committee is one of the oldest functioning Committees with a mission to undertake all activities, which will put Pune on the global map of Electronics Industry. The Committee does this by: creating a database of electronics industry in Pune, conducting training programmes, workshops, seminars, presentations & meetings, exploring possibilities of approaching overseas markets through business delegations, etc.
In the past, Chamber along with Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India and GTZ, Government of Germany had promoted Centre For Electronics Test Engineering (CETE) in Pune.
MCCIA Electronic Cluster Foundation (MECF)
Pune District has been notified as a Brownfield Cluster, which enables electronic manufacturing units in this geographical area to avail of financial incentives under M-SIPS.
A Common Facility Centre (CFC) is being promoted by MCCIA, under the name of MCCIA Electronic Cluster Foundation (MECF), which will have the state-of-the-art facilities for the manufacturers of the Electronics Industry and will assist the existing firms in the Pune Cluster to access better technology and move higher on the product value chain.
The CFC will function as a service provider to assist cluster firms in innovating and developing new products, producing value added products, enhance productivity and meet international product requirements to customers in and around Pune by providing the most commonly required facilities in Designing, SMT Line, EMC / EMI & Environment Lab, Test and Measurement Lab, Rapid Prototyping, Tool Room, etc.
