Food Processing Sector: Indian Food Processing industry is widely recognized as a 'Sunrise Industry'. India is the second largest producer of food in the world. According to the recent survey, the Indian food market is all set to be double by the year 2025. The rapid economic development, innovative technology and food production, growing consumerism and improved lifestyle are the main reasons behind this growth.

New / Convenience Food Products : There is a large demand and scope for New / Convenience Food Products like RTE-RTS Foods, Quick Snack Foods etc. Due to fast life style, the working women and housewives prefers healthy, nutritious and convenience food for their young children and elderly people at home. Some of the examples could be Ready to Serve Drinks of Mango, Apple, Kokum, & Amala. Ready to Cook Products like Gravies, Green, White & Red, Frozen Vegetables/Peas. Paste of Garlic, Ginger, Green-Chili, Red-Chili, Tamarind, Turmeric, Tomato. Maharashtra style/taste instant Soup Mixes. Nut-Milks-Cream, Soya Milk, Custard Apple Pulp, Pomegranate Juice, Jelly Chocolate, Amala Candy and Laddu etc.

 

Considering a good business scope for these Processed Food products, MCCIA will be organizing a series of Three Seminars on ‘Business Opportunities in Convenience Food Products’ mainly for Micro and Tiny scale Food Processing entrepreneurs. Also, the women entrepreneurs, housewives can participate in these seminars. Medium of instruction will be English & Marathi.

 

For Whom:  The program is mainly designed for Tiny, Cottage, Home, Micro scale Food Processing entrepreneurs who wish to expand their present food products range. These sessions could be also suitable for Progressive Farmers and Farmers’ Groups, Farmers Producer Companies (FPCs/FPOs), Women Self Help Groups-SHGs, and other stakeholders e.g. Entrepreneurs in Food Processing, Students of Food Science, Food Traders, Food Service Providers and Caterers etc.

 

Speaker: Mrs. Lalita Bora is a Certified Food Technologist from CFTRI, Mysore.  She is the Founder President of HEART Agro-Tech. Institute, Pune and organizes Entrepreneurship Development Training Programmes in Food Processing; she also extends hand holding support to unemployed youths to start their Food Processing Units.
