Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme

Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme
Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, has launched a nationwide Lean Manufacturing Cluster Scheme (LMCS) under the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Program (NMCP). The main objective of the Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness scheme is to bring the manufacturing competitiveness in the MSME sector by eliminating all types of wastes associated with the manufacturing processes and typical problems like over production, under production, customer rejections & complaints, reworks, inventory carrying cost, unplanned machine break downs, day to day fire fighting situations and so on. The focus is on making the entire process flow, not improving only a few operations.

The Ministry of MSME provides financial assistance to the cluster in order to make the project financially viable for the participating units and ensures effective implementation through periodic assessments.  MCCIA provides complete administrative support required for the successful execution of the projects.  Thousands of units all over the country have taken benefit of the Scheme.

MCCIA has so far formed 13 clusters and intends to form more clusters for the benefit of SMEs in and around Pune.   This awareness program has been organized with a purpose to provide detailed information of the Scheme.
